Energy cost reduction audits
Government Initiative For Energy & Cost Reduction Audits
The Carbon Trust provides free, practical advice to business and public sector organisations to help them reduce energy use.
Saving energy saves money and helps combat climate change by cutting carbon emissions. Expert Engineering Consultants identify energy-saving opportunities and provide practical advice on how to achieve these. The recommended measures include many NO and LOW COST actions that pay for themselves immediately or within a few months. A range of different survey types are available depending upon the size of the company and experience in managing energy.
EMTAC Limited an Energy Management & Consultancy company, is accredited by the Energy Institute to undertake auditing on behalf of The Carbon Trust, offering our clients a comprehensive solution service for all energy and Climate Change Levy issues.
*Free Government Carbon Trust Surveys
EMTAC use proven auditing techniques to identify energy cost-reduction opportunities. Most importantly, our audits are performed on site using data collected jointly with the client. This method instils confidence in the audit results and empowers the client’s engineers to implement our recommendations. By working with the client in this manner, we are able to recommend cost reductions in the region of 10% to 25% in such areas as energy management, staff awareness, space and process heating, lighting, compressed air, refrigeration and electrical control systems.
We also offer:
- Strategic reviews of utilities management
- Combined heat and power (CHP studies)
- Total energy monitoring and targeting (TEMAT)
- Energy and water performance bench marking
As part of the government initiatives to reduce carbon emissions, The Carbon Trust provides a range of fully or partially funded services making organisations more energy efficient, thus reducing costs.
EMTAC’s experienced and professionally qualified engineers are accredited to carry out the *FREE
energy surveys funded by the Government under the “Action Energy Programme”.
Following the initial survey, further government funding is available for follow on support to evaluate and implement specific energy saving measures.
A growing need for many clients is to minimise the impact of the Climate Change Levy. For industry and commerce, the average increase in energy costs amounts to as much as 15%. With our knowledge and experience of industrial and commercial processes, we can identify cost effective reductions and produce action plans to minimise the tax burden. A service taken by many companies includes a member of EMTAC sitting on their energy committee to meet Climate Change Levy requirements and agreements.
*FREE surveys are available for sites spending over £50,000 per year on energy (electricity, gas, LPG, oil and coal). Companies with multiple sites can qualify for a survey of each site.
