Air Conditioning Energy Assessments (ACEA)
What is an Air Conditioning Energy Assessment (ACEA)?
- ACEA’s are a Mandatory requirement since 4th January 2011
- Only systems output rating of 12kW or above require an ACEA
- All buildings that must have a ACEA include: Hospitals, care homes, libraries, museums, courts, schools, colleges, universities, etc
- An ACEA is directly linked to your buildings energy consumption
- An Advisory report for energy improvement is issued with an ACEA.
- You can be fined £300 for non compliance of a ACEA certificates and £1,000 for failure to possess an advisory report
The process
- Survey by Emtac CIBSE Accredited Low Carbon Consultants
- ACEA information is entered into government approved software
- ACEA’s are submitted to the government register
- The ACEA is issued to you and remains valid for 5 years
- The ACEA Advisory Report is issued to you and is valid for 7 years
